Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division to bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostics directly to customers, wherever they are. You’ll operate on a 40-hour week with a 1 in 4 Saturday pattern within the Warrington cluster, servicing Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, and nearby areas.

You’ll be equipped from day one with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and a diagnostic kit.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnostics, repairs and checks.
• Manage stock and reporting.
• Maintain clear customer conversations during driveway visits.

• A competitive base salary of £40,170, with on-target earnings of up to £52,000
• A guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities
• 40 hours per week, with core hours from8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and 1 in 4 Saturdays.

As an RAC Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you’ll bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, wherever they are. From driveways to office car parks, you’ll deliver first‑class service without the constraints of a traditional garage.

Where you’ll work

You’ll be part of the Warrington cluster, covering areas like Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Newton‑le‑Willows, Leigh, Golborne, Ashton‑in‑Makerfield. You’ll be out on the road in your local area, working through a clearly planned schedule of appointments - no reactive callouts, just organised, pre‑booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly.

What you’ll need

Either:
