Job summary

Luton Bennett in Cheltenham is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician (Mechanic) to service and repair forklifts in a field-based role within a highly successful manufacturer. The position offers comprehensive training and a supportive, employee‑driven environment.

You will carry out PPMs and breakdown work on materials handling machinery, with no long away shifts and training to become fully competent on all equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical service and repair.
• Ability to diagnose engines and perform basic electrical tasks.
• IT literate with basic diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PPM and breakdown on materials handling machinery on a field service basis.
• Reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area.
• Complete training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment.
• Spare parts stocked in van overnight.

TheMobile Vehicle Technician role will be suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, cleaning equipment or similar. This is also a great career opportunity for vehicle technicians looking to move into a new industry as the company will fully train. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, ideally have engine diagnostic and some basic electrical skills.

Part of a team of engineers, you'll be responsible for carrying out service and repairs on a range of forklifts. No stay away or extensive travel is required. Excellent OTE available through overtime and commission.
