Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Mobile Technician to visit customers’ driveways in the West Midlands. The role combines independent work with strong customer service, operating from a van with support from smart routing technology.

The position offers a 22-hour week with potential overtime, and a base salary around £15k–£17k per year plus targeted bonuses. Comprehensive benefits include leave, discounts, and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter or in other vehicle repair work is highly desirable.
• Ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative.
• This role suits someone with a real passion for cars & motoring.
• A current valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and services on customers' vehicles.
• Use a fully equipped van and smart routing to reach customers.
• Perform duties such as battery replacement, windscreen repairs, oil & filter changes.

• Shift pattern Saturday & Sunday 8:00 - 20:00 (Overtime may be available in the week)

As a Mobile Technician, you’ll use your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and customer service skills to keep our customers moving. After collecting your fully equipped van from the local Hub, you’ll be guided through your route by our smart technology, carrying out a wide range of repairs and services for our customers.

With full training provided for any gaps in your skill set, you can expect to carry out the following work, day-to-day:

• Battery replacement
• Windscreen repairs
• Oil & filter changes
