Job summary

Halfords is hiring a Mobile Technician in Portsmouth to bring expert car care directly to customers at their homes. You will receive full training and operate a fully equipped van sourced from the local Hub.

The role includes a base salary of £32,009 with on-target earnings up to £35,709 per year, plus a monthly bonus scheme averaging £3,700 annually. A 44-hour week with a shift pattern covering Monday to Sunday is laid out, with every other weekend included.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter or in other vehicle repair work is highly desirable.
• Ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative.
• This role will suit those with a real passion for all things cars & motoring.
• A current valid driving licence with no more than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out battery replacements, windscreen repairs, and oil & filter changes as part of daily work.
• Use the van and route guidance technology to service customers efficiently.
• Provide high-quality customer service while performing mobile repairs at customers’ locations.

As a Mobile Technician, you’ll use your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and customer service skills to keep our customers moving. After collecting your fully equipped van from the local Hub, you’ll be guided through your route by our smart technology, carrying out a wide range of repairs and services for our customers.

With full training provided for any gaps in your skill set, you can expect to carry out the following work, day-to-day:

• Battery replacement
• Windscreen repairs
• Oil & filter changes
