Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Mobile Technician in Peterborough to bring technical knowledge directly to customers’ driveways. You’ll diagnose and repair a range of vehicle systems, after collecting your fully equipped van from the local Hub, guided by our smart route technology.

The role includes a base salary of £31,002–£32,002 per year, on-target earnings up to £33,502, with a monthly bonus averaging £1,500. Expect a 44‑hour week with shift patterns Mon–Sun, including every other weekend, 8:00–20:00.

Qualifications

• Experience as Tyre Fitter or in vehicle repair work.
• L2/L3 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification desirable.

As a Mobile Technician, you'll use your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability and customer service skills to keep our customers moving. After collecting your fully equipped van from the local Hub, you'll be guided through your route by our smart technology, carrying out a wide range of repairs and services for our customers.

With full training provided for any gaps in your skill set, you can expect to carry out the following work, day-to-day:

• Battery replacement
• Windscreen repairs
• Oil & filter changes

Skills and experience

• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter or in other vehicle repair work
• L2 or L3 Light Vehicle Maintenance certification(s) highly desirable
• Ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative
• This role will suit those with a real passion for all things cars & motoring
• A current valid driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months with no more than 6 points
