Job description

Mobile Service Engineer

Salary + van + fuel card + on-call allowance + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + life assurance + health insurance + auto enrolment pension

This is an excellent opportunity for a plant engineer to work on our market-leading fleet of spiders/tracked booms, truck and van-mounted booms.

You'll work as part of a team to repair, inspect, and maintain the fleet to a high standard and have strong customer-facing skills.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary up to £34,000 p/a (dependent on experience), on-call allowance, van + fuel card, pension, life assurance, and 25 days holiday.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Carry out pre-delivery inspections (PDI) of machines at client premises and at depot as required, conforming to manufacturer's specifications, company policy, and regulations.
  2. Ensure that there are no deficiencies or defects affecting the safe operation of machines; notify the appropriate manager of any unsafe equipment.
  3. Repair machines at depot or on-site to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and company policies.
  4. Complete planned maintenance activities, including maintaining the fleet's appearance to corporate standards.
  5. Accurately complete all relevant paperwork, including engineer reports, off-hire/pre-delivery inspections, and service sheets.

About you:

  • Experience in plant, diesel engineering, auto electrics, hydraulics, diagnostics, and fault finding.
  • HGV class 1 or 2 license preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills and understanding of excellent customer service.
