Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Mobile Catering Manager to oversee school kitchens primarily across Worcester and Kidderminster with occasional travel to Wolverhampton. You will lead all food and beverage operations, manage budgets, menus and staff, and drive high standards of quality and service for students and staff.

The role offers a supportive team environment, regular hours, term-time scheduling, and travel allowances with annual retention bonuses.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required with own vehicle; travel to different sites possible.
• Experience cooking at large scale (100–1300 students).
• Experience following recipes and supervising staff.
• Experience with fresh produce and ingredients.
• Adherence to health and safety procedures is essential.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a busy kitchen.
• Professional, leading by example with a positive attitude.
• Basic food handling certificates: NVQ Level 2 and Level 2 Food Safety; hands-on cooking experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage replenishment of food and end-of-service area dismantling.
• Develop, mentor, train and inspire the kitchen team.
• Control catering operation costs: labour, food and stock.
• Manage and optimise all controllable costs.
• Ensure uniform food and service standards for staff, visitors and students.
• Create and develop menus.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure standards are followed.
