Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Radiology Assistant to join the Lung Cancer Screening service. The role is based on our mobile CT unit and requires travel across Oxfordshire to support radiographers, nurses and participants during scans, bookings and record-keeping.

You will provide practical care, reassurance and help with patient movement, while developing skills in radiology systems and service processes through full training.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
• Ability to travel across Oxfordshire locations.
• Experience in a healthcare setting and strong communication skills.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Support patients and visitors with care and reassurance.
• Assist radiographers during CT scanning and support the clinical team.
• Manage bookings, data entry and records using hospital systems.
• Help maintain clean, organized environments and stock levels.
• Follow infection control and radiation safety regulations and work under supervision.
• Complete mandatory training and contribute to service improvement.
