Job summary

Plantexpand is seeking a field service technician to service, inspect and repair utility vans and light commercial vehicles around Maidstone. You’ll work from a fully stocked van with a tablet on hand to record hours, parts and photos, and you will aim to fix faults first time on site.

A typical day includes scheduled visits from 7am–8am, on-site servicing, and breakdowns with parts collection as needed. The role offers £41,000–£45,000 per year, overtime, a company van and fuel card, a

Qualifications

• A Level 2 or Level 3 vehicle qualification (IMI, City & Guilds or similar) or equivalent experience.
• Your own hand tools (we supply specialist tools and diagnostics)
• A full UK driving licence
• Happy working on your own, out on site

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair utility vans and light commercial vehicles on customer sites in and around Maidstone
• Service and repair PTO systems, hydraulics and body-fitted equipment
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and fix them first time wherever you can
• Carry out vehicle safety and compliance checks
• Carry out LOLER thorough examinations on tail lifts, once you're qualified, on equipment maintained by another engineer
• Log every job on a tablet (photos, hours and parts used), close the job, raise follow-on repairs and talk directly to our service controllers
