Job summary

SVC Technical is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter for workshop and customer-site work across Essex and surrounding counties. You will service, maintain and repair a range of plant and machinery in a modern workshop, with travel to client sites as required.

The role requires five years of hands-on experience, strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic knowledge, and proficiency with diagnostic equipment. A full UK driving licence and your own tools are essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Mobile Plant Fitter.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience using computer diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintain clear and precise service documentation.
• Reliable, flexible and team‑focused approach.
• Remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently.
• Your own tools and a full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults across a wide range of plant and machinery.
• Carry out routine servicing, PDI inspections and PAT testing.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs.
• Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair equipment when required.
• Use computer diagnostic equipment to identify faults accurately.
• Maintain service records, job sheets and supporting documentation.
• Complete repairs per manufacturer guidelines and industry best practice.
• Manage each repair from initial diagnosis to completion.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, accurately and to high standards.
