Job summary

Smart Solutions is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team in the waste management sector. The role covers maintenance, service and repair of mobile and static plant machinery, plus fault-finding across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, paying £20 per hour. We value safety, reliability and proactive attitude in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Maintenance Fitter.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with heavy plant or waste/recycling machinery is desirable.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred.
• Reliable, proactive and safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair mobile and static plant machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Work on equipment including loaders, conveyors, shredders, balers and compactors.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance.
• Maintain safe working practices and accurate maintenance records.
