Neos Engineering are partnered with a leading supplier of mobile plant machinery within the minerals and aggregate sector, renowned for operating one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally friendly fleets in Europe. This forward-thinking organisation is now seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to support its fleet of over 150 front-line machines across the South West region.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced field service engineer to join a dedicated and growing team. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of industry-leading heavy construction equipment, including machinery from top brands such as Volvo, Caterpillar, and Komatsu.
Duties include:
Repair and overhaul of heavy-duty plant machinery (excavators, haulers, loaders, bulldozers) to a high standard
Diagnosing faults on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Preparing new machines for deployment, including fitting attachments and safety equipment
Ordering and managing parts required for repairs
Working both independently and collaboratively with the engineering team
Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring H&S compliance at all times
To be successful in this role, you will bring a strong background in heavy plant or related industries, ideally with experience in quarrying or aggregates.
Minimum 5 years’ post-apprenticeship experience in heavy construction plant maintenance
Formal qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in plant, agricultural or HGV mechanics
Strong knowledge of Tier 4 and 5 engines, drivetrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and AdBlue systems
Proficient with diagnostic tools and fault-finding software
Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a field-based role
Comfortable using email and tablet-based maintenance systems
Committed to health and safety standards
Competitive hourly pay with overtime options
Death in Service (2x salary)
