Job summary

Bachy Soletanche Limited, a world-leading geotechnical contracting group, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and repair mechanical equipment across workshop locations and UK job sites.

You will travel within the UK at short notice and overseas as required, follow OEM instructions, read hydraulic and electrical drawings and work as part of a team to keep plant running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship (Construction Plant) or equivalent Level 2 (min) NVQ.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Worked with heavy plant machinery previously.
• Understanding of telematics.
• Good knowledge of the drilling and concreting processes on a ground engineering site
• Good knowledge of instrumentation systems; Jean Lutz/B-Tronic/DMS etc.
• Understanding of hydraulic systems
• SMSTS / IOSH

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment in workshop locations and UK job sites.
• Be prepared to travel within UK at short notice and overseas with notice.
• Follow OEM instructions and communicate MS and RA to team.
• Read hydraulic and electrical drawings and diagnose faults.
• Rig and De rig BSL owned equipment following OEM instructions.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Maintain telematics knowledge and inspect plant/equipment as required.
• Perform basic welded repairs and flame cutting as required.
• Work as part of a team in workshop or on site.
• Complete timesheets daily and maintain tools log.
• Maintain company vehicle per policy and report incidents via BAC APP.

The Role

Maintenance and repair of our mechanical equipment both in our workshop locations and UK job sites.

What You'll Be Doing

• Be prepared to travel within UK at short notice.
• Be prepared to travel overseas with some notice – either to job site or OEM visit.
• Work in accordance with local, site, company and UK rules and regulations – H&S and Environmental.
• Follow OEM instructions and communicate these together with any relevant MS and RA to those working with you.
• Be conversant with hydraulic and electrical drawings.
• Rig and De rig BSL owned equipment as required following OEM instruction.
• Trouble shoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, basic electrical and engine problems in timely and methodical manner using all available information and support.
• Basic knowledge of telematics systems fitted to our equipment.
• Undertake inspections of plant and equipment as required using templates.
• Basic welded repairs as required (non structural).
• Basic Flame cutting as required.
• Work as part of a team whether in workshop or on site.
• Complete a timesheet daily and submit within 24 hrs.
• Maintain log of personal tools.
• Maintain company vehicle in accordance with company policy handbook.
• Report all incidents, accidents or suggestions for improvement through BAC APP.
• Ensure the Company's core values are embedded in all decisions made and shape your behaviour.

What We're Looking For
