Job summary

SER (Staffing) Ltd in Bristol is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. You will service and repair a wide range of plant machinery including excavators, dumpers, loaders, and telehandlers. The role is based in Bristol and covers the surrounding areas.

The position offers a competitive basic salary of £38,000 to £45,000, 23 days holiday plus bank holidays, a pension scheme, bonus scheme, and more. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a motivated technician.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or Mobile Plant Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery incl. excavators, dumpers, loaders, and telehandlers.
• Full UK driving license.
• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent in engineering or mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites in Bristol and surrounding areas to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Inspect and test machinery to identify issues and ensure optimal performance.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot faults.
• Replace or repair faulty components and ensure machinery is operational.
• Provide expert advice to clients on care and maintenance of their equipment.
• Collaborate with the team to manage workloads and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
• Perform inspections to ensure machinery is safe and compliant with regulations.
• Provide on-site support to clients, ensuring minimal downtime for their equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and any additional recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, loaders, and telehandlers.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering or mechanics (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Full UK driving license.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
