Job summary

Orchard Healthcare Group is seeking a Painter & Decorator to act as the main contact for decorating queries and to ensure all decorating tasks are completed on time and to the agreed scope. The role involves liaising with the Home Manager, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations across our care homes.

You will work both independently and as part of a team, with a valid driving licence and willingness to travel, including overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence with willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for all decorating queries.
• Liaise with the Home Manager to maintain decor and ensure care home is well-presented.
• Ensure decorating tasks are completed on time and within scope.
• Maintain a safe environment and comply with Food Safety, COSHH and Fire Safety regulations.
• Report deficiencies to the Home Manager and Estates team and follow up.
• Respect residents’ privacy, dignity and choice.
• Coordinate with external contractors to meet Health & Safety and Care Standards Act requirements.

Job description

Painter & Decorator, you will act as a point of contact for all decorating queries, ensuring that all decorating tasks are completed on time and to agreed scope, ensuring the home remains pleasant and safe for our residents at all times. This includes:

• Acting as a point of contact for all decorating queries.
• Liaising with the Home Manager ensuring the care home is maintained in good decorative order
• Ensuring timely completion of allocated decorating tasks, completed to agreed scope.
• Understanding and meet statutory and legal requirements such as Food Safety, COSHH and Fire Safety and to maintain a safe environment throughout the care home.
• Reporting any deficiencies that are out of the scope of this role to the Home Manager and Estates team and follow these up.
• Respecting residents at all times, especially their individual right to privacy, dignity and choice
• Liaising with external contractors to ensure that all requirements relating to Health & Safety and the Care Standards Act legislation are fully met.
• Master of trade and detail orientated
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• IT literate - confident using MS Office and online FM platforms.
• Clean driving licence and flexibility to travel, including overnight stays.
• Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Professional, approachable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• £35,000-£40,000 per annum, dependant on experience
