Job description

Optometrists - we are very excited to be recruiting a mobile optometrist for our fantastic practice across Boots Opticians in Dunstable and Luton.

Our vacancy is for a part-time role of 15 hours per week, working Thursday 9-5:30 and Saturday 9-5:30. The store runs a cataracts and cataract referral clinic.

We have 3 testing rooms equipped with advanced technology, including a Phoropter and OCT, to support us in providing the best service to our customers and patients. Parking is available at Luton Mall and behind the Dunstable store.

You will join our amazing team of 15, which includes 5 other Resident Optometrists, a CLO, and a DO.

About the opportunity

Your main responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading clinics and providing specialist care and advice to patients.
  2. Using the latest technology to test eyes while maintaining excellent patient care.
  3. Delivering enhanced services based on store needs.
  4. Responding to emergency triages.
  5. Collaborating with external healthcare professionals.
  6. Providing clinical support to team members on the shop floor.
  7. Offering advice to patients using your clinical knowledge.
  8. Staying updated with the latest clinical practices.
  9. Working closely with senior stakeholders.
What you’ll need to have

The essential skills or experience needed:

  1. GOC registration (or expecting to be registered within 6 months).
  2. Additional registration with the relevant NHS body.
  3. A drive to deliver excellent patient care.
  4. Strong communication and organizational skills.
