Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Mobile Fabric Technician to join the Newcastle area team. This role requires a fabric bias with carpentry experience and a proactive, safety-conscious approach to maintenance tasks.

You will respond to reactive works, carry out planned maintenance, inspect sites, read technical drawings, and liaise with client representatives to ensure timely completion. The position is full-time in Newcastle, with opportunities to contribute to a range of building

Qualifications

• Fabric and carpentry experience required.
• Experience in high-profile environments is desirable.
• City & Guilds or NVQ in carpentry is required.
• Valid UK driving licence is essential.
• PC literacy and good customer relations are important.
• Ability to read technical drawings and plans.
• Strong understanding of H&S procedures (COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessments).
• IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to reactive works within the team.
• Ensure maintenance tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
• Liaise with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair tasks.
• Undertake site surveys and produce Works Requests, Method Statements and Risk Assessments for planned works.
• Repairs floor and wall coverings.
• Responsible for ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
• Responsible for other building and installation works as required.
• Accountable for lighting, lamp changes, AHU/FCU filters and basic plumbing.
• Utilise PDA to complete works, communications and updates.
• Complete reactive, PPM jobs and projects promptly.
• Undertake minor project works.
• Ensure all works are carried out safely per Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as directed by the Technical Services Manager.

Role Summary

Experience Required

• Previous Fabric, Carpentry experience
• Experience of working in high profile work environment
• City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent in carpentry
• Current UKL driver’s license
• PC literate
• Good Customer relationship skills
• Understand and interpret technical drawings/instructions / processes
• Able to organise self to manage assigned tasks, determine material requirements
• Experience of H & S procedures & requirements. COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment etc
• Health & Safety Qualified i.e. IOSH and/or NEBOSH
• Must be willing to work over & above contractual hours
