Job Purpose

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is recruiting a Mobile Engineer to work across sites in the Midlands, including Hinckley, Rugby, and Coventry. The role involves maintaining environmental conditions related to critical building systems, performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive, and breakdown works on mechanical and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to various sites across the Midlands; a full UK driving license is required.
  • Perform PPM (to SFG 20) on all mechanical and electrical equipment as per schedules.
  • Complete reactive tasks promptly and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Address plant faults and defects swiftly to maintain operational status.
  • Manage spares and provide parts lists and timelines for remedial works.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork for maintenance and breakdown works promptly.
  • Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safety.
  • Develop good working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment, including wearing PPE and uniforms.
  • Present a professional image of CBRE Managed Services.
  • Keep shift logs up to date and ensure plant rooms are secure and tidy.
  • Supervise and monitor subcontractors on site.
  • Provide cover for holidays and sickness at short notice and be flexible with working patterns.
  • Undertake lone working with appropriate training.
  • Complete assigned tasks with a focus on H&S compliance and contractual KPIs/SLA.
  • Maintain the Computer Based Maintenance system (SI LOCAL) accurately.
  • Operate a Permit to Work system per CBRE and client safety procedures.
  • Provide emergency cover as required, possibly at different sites.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • A solid educational background with good English skills.
  • Basic Mathematics skills.
  • CITY AND GUILDS qualification in a relevant field.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Calm under pressure, able to make sound decisions.
  • Physically capable of handling tools and components up to 20kg.
  • Able to work at heights and ascend/descend vertical access equipment.
  • Team player, able to collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Good PC skills.

Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of building works, diagnostics, and maintenance procedures.
  • Training in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • BMS knowledge.
  • Experience with mechanical commissioning.
  • Recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH).
  • Knowledge of UPS, Generators, HV, PDU’s, Crac units, fault-finding using alarm data.
  • Understanding asset demarcation in laboratory and production environments.

Experience

  • Mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment to specific criteria.
  • Knowledge of building systems and maintenance schedules.

Circumstances
