Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions in London is seeking a Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance across plant, equipment and building services. You will work on heavy industrial machinery and overhead cranes, conduct fault-finding, and support the maintenance department with safety documentation and risk assessments.

The role requires an apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, 18th Edition, NVQ Level 2, and experience in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Recognised or time-served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• NVQ Level 2 in Electrical and Mechanical equipment.
• 18th Edition compliance and electrical safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks on site; update drawings and plan preventive measures.
• Fault-find on electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to maintenance; support heavy machinery and cranes.
• Write and follow risk assessments and method statements for safe work.
• Use CAFM systems to project and complete works.
• Supervise contractors when required and ensure compliance.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a talented and versatile Mobile Multi Skilled Engineer to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on a wide range of plant, equipment, and building services. If you have a strong background in manufacturing maintenance, electrical and mechanical competences, and a passion for problem‑solving, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks associated with equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, and improving equipment performance
• Conduct fault‑finding on all types of machinery, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
• Provide electrical and mechanical expertise to the maintenance department, working on heavy industrial machines and overhead cranes
• Write and follow risk assessments and method statements, ensuring a safe and accurate working environment
• Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete works from the CAFM maintenance system
• Liaise with onsite site services to manage building services‑related issues
• Deputise for the shift leader during annual leave or sickness
• Work overtime as required, including nights and weekends

Requirements

• Recognised or time‑served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance
• Electrical competences to a minimum of City and Guilds 236 Pt 1‑2 Electrical qualifications to 18th Edition
• Mechanical competences to an acceptable standard to City and Guild's Mechanical
• Good multi‑skilled ability, with experience working on 3‑phase motors, drives, and inverters
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience
• Ability to fault‑find and diagnose PLC systems
• NVQ qualifications to Level 2, Electrical and Mechanical
• Ability to supervise contractors and write risk and method statements

• Experience of heavy engineering
