Job Description:

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work within an estates team, providing maintenance and repairs to mechanical plant rooms, including steam, pressure systems, AHUs, pumps/valves, and associated pipework. The position is permanent, based in Leeds, paying £39,500, with working hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. On-call and overtime are available.

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and inspections of mechanical building services in compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Represent the company professionally and respectfully.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and building services.
  • Respond promptly to breakdown requests.
  • Assist with installation, upgrading, and adaptation works.
  • Conduct fault finding on malfunctioning equipment.
  • Follow safe working practices and use access equipment, tools, and PPE appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Work flexibly with colleagues and assist other trades as needed.
  • Participate in callout/standby rota after qualifying period.
  • Undertake training to develop skills.
  • Perform risk assessments and complete job documentation diligently.
  • Complete tasks within designated timeframes and undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a maintenance environment.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services or equivalent.
  • Experience with AHUs, FCUs, LTHW, pumps, pipework, valves, chilled and portable water systems, and water hygiene systems.
  • Pipe fitting experience (desirable).
  • Experience with PPM and reactive work.
  • Desire to become an Authorized Person for Mechanical Systems (preferred).
  • Ability to pass DBS checks.
  • Valid driving license.
