Job summary

Yorkshire Water is looking for a Mechanical Fitter to perform both planned and reactive maintenance on their water and wastewater treatment assets. This permanent position involves mobile working across the West Yorkshire region, offering a salary of £40,110 and various benefits including an annual incentive related bonus and a strong pension scheme.

The successful candidate will need to have a mechanical engineering qualification, full driving license, and experience in industrial fitting. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Craft/Technician Apprenticeship and a City & Guilds/ONC/BTEC/NVQ/HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Full valid driving licence (no more than six points).
• Experience in maintenance and repair of various types of pumps and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical assets across water and wastewater treatment installations.
• Manage and prioritise own workload while adhering to health and safety policies.
• Supervise approved contract partners and assist in training apprentices.

Skills

Safe isolation to the current IET regulations

Fault finding on mechanical systems

Time served as an industrial mechanical fitter

Working with rotating equipment

Education

City & Guilds/ONC/BTEC/NVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
