Role: Mobile Mechanical Engineer
Location: West Midlands based – national role
Salary: £42,000 per annum plus van
Are you an engineer who enjoys working independently and planning your own day? We are seeking a mobile mechanical building services maintenance engineer willing to travel and manage multiple sites, including healthcare, government, and other public-funded facilities. This is a permanent position offering up to £42,000 annually for the right candidate.
Main Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, generators, and related machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose problems, and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation and longevity of systems.
- Respond quickly to emergency repairs, minimizing downtime and disruption.
- Coordinate with team members, contractors, and external providers for repairs, upgrades, and installations.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
About You (Essential Skills and Experience):
- Proven experience in a facilities-related environment with knowledge of procedures and legislation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet high standards.
- Experience with PPM/CAFM systems.
- Knowledge of Low Temperature Hot Water systems, TMVs, Pressure Systems, Pool Plant, AHU/AC Systems, Compressed Air Systems, L8, BMS, and Heating controls.
- Experience working in a PFI environment.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification.
