Job summary

Malcolm Arnold Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust, offers a fixed-term maintenance role in the mobile team until 31 August 2027. The post covers refurbishment, decorating, and repairs across Trust academies, with travel between Northamptonshire and Leicestershire and a provided work van.

You will perform painting, decorating, routine repairs, small projects, and site management cover as needed, working within a team.

Job description

This fixed-term post, running to 31 August 2027, sits within the mobile maintenance team at Malcolm Arnold Academy, part of the David Ross Education Trust. The work is building repair, refurbishment and decorating across the Trust's schools, with small projects and occasional site management cover when an academy needs help. Travel between academies in Northamptonshire and Leicestershire is part of the job, with a work van provided and travel costs covered. Applicants need a full clean driving licence, and visa sponsorship is not available.

What’s required

Experience

• Good painting and decorating experience
• Competent with building repairs and maintenance

Skills & knowledge

• Understanding and applying regulations such as health and safety, manual handling, COSHH, asbestos and Legionella
• Ability to operate and understand electrical and mechanical systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required by the post
