Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, and recordkeeping.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and make necessary repairs.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with F-Gas regulations.
  • Install air conditioning systems when required.
  • Produce detailed technical quotations, including parts and labour estimates, to ensure profitability, cost control, and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business needs.
  • Escalate issues promptly to Supervisor/Contract Manager.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota for emergency repairs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet client objectives.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and engineers from other disciplines to ensure smooth operation without disruption.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience working on various air conditioning units, including VRVs, VRFs, and splits.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven experience in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Fault-finding expertise on traditional and modern plant equipment.
  • Work safely and diligently.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning.
  • FGAS Category 1 certification.
  • Electrical qualifications are advantageous.
  • IPAF/PASMA certification is beneficial.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Will undergo contract-specific vetting and background checks.
  • Manufacturer training or knowledge is a plus.
