Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process, and digital services has led to long-term partnerships with leading organisations in sectors such as food and drink, utilities, and high-security industries including defence, aerospace, and nuclear. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our dynamic team.

As the Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a number of commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, and recordkeeping.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and make necessary repairs.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure they are operating at optimal levels.
  • Ensure statutory compliance of F-Gas regulations.
  • Carry out installation of air conditioning systems when required.
  • Produce detailed technical quotations, including parts and labour, to ensure profitability, cost control, and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business requirements.
  • Escalate issues to the Supervisor/Contract Manager immediately.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota and attend emergency repair works as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with a skilled team to achieve client objectives.
  • Liaise with specialist sub-contractors and engineers from other disciplines to ensure the efficient operation of the plant/area without disruption.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience working on a range of air conditioning equipment, including VRVs, VRFs, and splits.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Strong fault-finding experience, capable of working on traditional plant equipment and modern systems.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning.
  • FGAS Cat 1 certification.
  • Electrical qualifications (beneficial).
  • IPAF/PASMA certification (beneficial).
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Due to the nature of the contract, candidates will need to undergo contract-specific vetting, including financial and employment background checks. Manufacturer courses and knowledge are also desirable.
