Job description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across various commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, and maintaining detailed records.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with F-Gas regulations.
  • Install air conditioning systems as required.
  • Produce detailed technical quotations, including parts and labour estimates, to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business needs.
  • Escalate issues promptly to Supervisors or Contract Managers.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota for emergency repairs.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and liaise with sub-contractors and other discipline engineers to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience with a range of air conditioning equipment, including VRVs, VRFs, and split systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Fault-finding experience on both traditional and modern HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work safely and diligently.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning.
  • FGAS Category 1 certification.
  • Electrical qualifications (beneficial).
  • IPAF/PASMA certification (beneficial).
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Ability to pass contract-specific vetting and background checks.
  • Manufacturer-specific training or knowledge.
