Job description

We are March, the UK's leading provider of critical engineering services. Our expertise as a multi-disciplinary engineering partner across infrastructure, process, and digital services has led to long-term partnerships with leading organisations in sectors ranging from food and drink and utilities to high-security industries such as defence, aerospace, and nuclear.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Air Conditioning Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of commercial sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, and recordkeeping.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and perform necessary repairs.
  • Test HVAC systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with F-Gas regulations.
  • Install air conditioning systems as required.
  • Produce detailed technical quotations, including parts and labour costs, to ensure profitability, cost control, and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain strict compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance work performed.
  • Work flexible hours to meet business needs.
  • Escalate issues promptly to Supervisors/Contract Managers.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and attend emergency repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve client objectives.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and engineers from other disciplines to ensure efficient operation without disruption.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience working with various air conditioning equipment, including VRVs, VRFs, and split systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven expertise in commercial facilities maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
  • Extensive fault-finding experience, capable of working on traditional and modern plant equipment.
  • Ability to work safely and diligently.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 in Air Conditioning.
  • FGAS Category 1 certification.
  • Electrical qualifications (beneficial).
  • IPAF/PASMA certification (beneficial).
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Subject to contract-specific vetting, including financial and employment background checks.
  • Manufacturer training or knowledge (beneficial).
