Job summary

Consult2Recruit is seeking a Mobile Refuse Technician to cover Crawley and surrounding areas. The role involves visiting customer sites to inspect, service and repair refuse and waste-handling equipment, performing planned maintenance and fault finding.

You will work Monday to Friday with day shifts starting between 6:00am and 7:00am. A company van and fuel are provided, with overtime paid at enhanced rates and a long-term employment path.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical fault-finding and repairs.
• Experience with hydraulics and/or electrical systems.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work independently with a mobile workload.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer and site locations across Crawley and surrounding areas.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding on refuse and waste-handling equipment.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance; attend customer sites.
• Complete service reports and maintenance paperwork.
• Provide a professional service and work safely in accordance with procedures.

The Role

As a Mobile Refuse Technician, you will travel to customer and site locations across Crawley and surrounding areas to carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault finding on refuse and waste-handling equipment.

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Attending customer sites throughout the local area
• Servicing and maintaining refuse and waste equipment
• Ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and operational
• Completing service reports and maintenance paperwork
• Providing a professional service to customers
• Working safely and in accordance with company procedures

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• Previous experience as a Refuse Technician, Waste Equipment Technician, HGV Mechanic, Plant Fitter, Vehicle Technician or similar
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
• Experience with hydraulics and/or electrical systems
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload
• Good communication and customer service skills
