Action Cancer is seeking a reliable HGV Driver to support the BIG BUS service across Northern Ireland. The role involves driving, setting up and maintaining a mobile health unit to bring cancer screening and health checks to local communities.

You will perform daily vehicle checks, ensure safety and cleanliness, and coordinate with the BIG BUS team to deliver services efficiently. This is a hands-on, community-focused driving role with varied duties.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV license and driver qualifications.
• Strong understanding of vehicle safety checks and roadworthiness requirements.
• Good practical problem-solving skills and time management.

Responsabilités

• Drive the BIG BUS safely to and from community locations.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks (lights, tyres, oil, coolant, brakes, tachograph, warning systems).
• Report faults, damage or maintenance issues promptly.
• Set up the BIG BUS on arrival (positioning, levelling, hydraulic systems, pods, canopy, steps, generator).
• Prepare interior spaces for service delivery (reception, consultation rooms, kitchen, toilets, staff areas).
• Ensure the unit is clean, safe and welcoming for staff and clients.
• Monitor water tanks, generator usage, fuel, AdBlue and other needs.
• Support site inspections for future BIG BUS locations and assist with maintenance arrangements.
