Platinum-Recruitment is seeking a Mobile Generator Engineer to service, maintain and repair a range of generators across customer sites in the West Midlands. You will work Monday to Friday with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and timely fault resolution.

The role requires hands-on plant fitting experience, generator knowledge and a full UK driving licence. You will benefit from training, overtime opportunities and a clear path for long-term progression within a growing business.

Qualifications

We’re recruiting for an experienced Mobile Generator Engineer to join a well-established and growing business covering the West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with a plant fitting background and generator experience looking for a stable, well-paid role with excellent earning potential, ongoing training and long-term career progression.

As a Mobile Generator Engineer covering the West Midlands, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a range of generators and associated equipment across customer sites. This role would suit an experienced Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer or Field Service Engineer who has hands‑on experience working with generators, diesel engines, electrical systems and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mobile Generator Engineer, you will:

• Carry out scheduled maintenance, servicing, repairs and inspections on a range of generator equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently and effectively.
• Service and repair associated equipment both on customer sites and within the workshop environment.
• Provide high-quality technical support and deliver excellent customer service.
• Complete accurate service reports, timesheets and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures, industry standards and health & safety regulations.
• Represent the company professionally while building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Work independently and as part of a team to achieve service targets and maintain high operational standards.

What we’re looking for

To be successful as a Mobile Generator Engineer, you’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Generator Engineer, Plant Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar
• Essential experience working with generators or associated power equipment
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
• Experience maintaining construction plant, industrial equipment or similar machinery
• Full UK driving licence
• A reliable, professional and customer‑focused approach
