Job summary

NG Bailey is seeking a Mobile General Maintenance Technician to service railway stations in the London, Metro, Southeast London and Kent areas. The role focuses on electrical and general maintenance, offering varied tasks across multiple sites and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

You will work a 40-hour week with an on-call rota and opportunities for overtime, with a company van provided for mobile duties and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Fabric Technician or general maintenance in commercial/industrial settings.
• Full UK driving licence.
• PTS certification advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to work across multiple railway locations.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across a portfolio of railway stations.
• Handle repairs, decorating, basic carpentry, and plumbing.
• Complete fabric-related PPM tasks and reactive repairs within SLAs and KPIs.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to meet contractual obligations.
• Ensure all work adheres to Health & Safety procedures and record keeping.
• Utilise CAFM system to log work and provide service updates.
• Communicate professionally with clients, station teams and subcontractors.
• Assist in coordinating subcontractor works while upholding safety standards.

At NG Bailey Facilities Services, we’re looking for an experienced Mobile General Maintenance Technician to join our prestigious SETL - South East Trains Limited Railway Contract. Your Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive building fabric maintenance across a portfolio of railway stations.
• Handle a diverse range of tasks, including minor repairs, decorating, basic carpentry, and plumbing.
• Complete fabric-related PPM tasks and reactive repairs within agreed Service Level Agreements and KPIs.
• Diagnose faults and efficiently complete repairs across multiple locations.
• Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to meet contractual obligations.
• Ensure all work is conducted safely, adhering to method statements, risk assessments, and NG Bailey Health & Safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of completed works and site documentation.
• Utilize the client's CAFM system to log work and provide service delivery updates.
• Communicate professionally with clients, station teams, FM colleagues, and subcontractors.
• Assist in coordinating subcontractor works while upholding Health & Safety standards.
• Proactively identify maintenance issues to keep premises in top condition.
• Undertake minor works and small projects with minimal supervision.

Working Hours

Enjoy a balanced work-life with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus participation in an on-call rota (1-6). There are also opportunities for overtime when needed!

What We’re Looking For

We seek a practical and experienced General Maintenance Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality maintenance services. You should be comfortable working independently and managing your workload across various sites while providing excellent customer service.

Ideal Qualifications

• Experience in a Fabric Technician, Building Maintenance, Handyperson, or similar multi-skilled role.
• Hands-on experience with fabric-related PPM and reactive maintenance in commercial or industrial settings.
• A broad skill set in building maintenance, including repairs, decorating, carpentry, and plumbing.
• Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, including safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in job documentation and using mobile or CAFM systems.
• A relevant City & Guilds trade qualification or equivalent is a plus.
• PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
