Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Leeds, Huddersfield and surrounding areas
OTE: £39,813 per annum, before commission.
Job Description
This is a field-based engineering role, primarily servicing and repairing electric forklift trucks, with around 90% of the work involving electric lithium-powered trucks and EP electric trucks.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Attending customer sites to diagnose and repair forklift breakdowns.
- Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Repairing and maintaining electric forklift trucks.
- Working predominantly with lithium-powered and EP electric trucks.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Completing service reports and relevant engineering paperwork.
- Advising customers on repairs and replacement parts where required.
- Identifying opportunities to upsell and generate additional commission.
- Maintaining good customer relationships while representing the company professionally.
Experience You Will Need:
- Previous experience working with forklifts / forklift trucks is preferred.
- Experience in servicing, repairing or maintaining material handling equipment would be advantageous.
- Good mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge is essential.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
- A customer-focused and professional approach.
- Full training will be provided, including up to one month of training, so candidates with the right engineering background may also be considered.
Package:
- Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
- 30-minute lunch break
- Guaranteed 2.5 hours overtime per week
- OTE at around £39,813 per annum, before commission.
