Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Mobile Fitter based in Cardiff. You will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of a fleet of Telescopic Handlers (JCB and Manitou) with a focus on providing great customer service. Candidates should have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance and proven experience as a diesel mechanic. Responsibilities

  • Ensure machinery is maintained and repaired to stay fit for hire.
  • Record repair data e.g. time allocation/spares used/mileage.

Skills

Proven experience as a diesel mechanic
Strong working knowledge of plant machinery
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Good spoken and written English

Education

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent

Job description

Our client is looking for a Mobile Fitter to join their team based at their Cardiff Depot. In this hands-on role, you ll be responsible for the repair and maintenance of their fleet of Telescopic Handlers (JCB and Manitou) with most work carried out on-site with their customers.

Role:

  • Servicing and repairing hire equipment and plant on site on average 15 visits to customers per week
  • Help increase our clients NPS (Net Promoter Score) by providing an excellent standard of professionalism and customer service at all times
  • As many first-time fixes as possible to prevent downtime for customers
  • Minimal machines returned faulty after repair/maintenance carried out
  • Basic level of essential spares always in stock
  • Minimal downtime of equipment whilst awaiting spares

Responsibilities:

  1. Promote & comply with H&S regulations and legislation at all times
  2. Complete repairs as allocated to the required standard both within the depot and on customer sites
  3. Communicating with the Maintenance Manager / Depot Manager in regards to any delays, so this can be in turn communicated back to the customer to provide an exceptional service at all times
  4. Responsible for ensuring the machinery is maintained and repaired to stay fit for hire
  5. Recording repair data e.g. time allocation/spares used/mileage
  6. Informing the office of any spares required in a timely manner,
  7. Keeping the van clean and to the 5S standard at all times and proactively ensuring that work area is safe.
  8. Recording and documenting repairs carried out on iPad device with photographs to support any charges applicable to the customer
  9. Providing support within the Depot as and when required by Maintenance Manager/Depot Manager
  10. Adhere to client's Behaviours and Mobile Fitter golden rules at all times.
  11. Follow client's processes, policies, and procedures every step of the way.
  12. Willingly perform ad hoc duties as required

What You'll Need:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic
  • A valid UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points
  • Strong working knowledge of plant machinery
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Good spoken and written English

Bonus points if you also have a valid CSCS card
