Job summary

Kier is seeking a Handyperson to join our Facilities Management team, supporting the Ministry of Justice across Ipswich and surrounding areas. This mobile role covers the National Probation Service Estate in London, delivering planned and reactive maintenance to keep facilities running smoothly.

You will work 40 hours per week, with a 1-in-4 on-call rotation and a focus on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates will hold CSCS and Working at Height certificates, have a full UK driving licence,

Qualifications

• CSCS card required.
• Working at Height certification required.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Excellent communication and proactive problem solving.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota (1 week in 4).

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs including fixing carpeting, hanging items, patching paintwork, and minor drain blockages.
• Manage toilet seat replacements, door handle repairs, and fix loose hinges and fittings.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and update systems accordingly.
• Respond to reactive helpdesk calls and conduct daily site inspections.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contractors while maintaining clear communication with site users.
