Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) in accordance with current regulations and maintain accurate records.
  2. Perform weekly tap temperature testing to ensure compliance with Legionella control measures.
  3. Carry out monthly emergency lighting tests, documenting results and reporting any faults.
  4. Support general building maintenance tasks as required, including minor repairs and inspections.
  5. Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all testing and maintenance activities.
  6. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations.
  7. Liaise with contractors and other service providers when necessary.
  8. Report any issues or non-compliance to the OCC Manager.
Skills and Experiences:
  • Proven experience in a building services, maintenance, or facilities role.
  • Certification in PAT testing (e.g., City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Legionella control and water hygiene testing procedures.
  • Understanding of emergency lighting systems and testing protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic IT skills for logging and reporting tasks.
Specific Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Building Services, Electrical Installation, or a related field.
  • Experience working in healthcare, education, or commercial property environments.
  • Awareness of other statutory compliance areas (e.g., fire safety, HVAC, gas safety).
