Job description

Building a sustainable tomorrow

BAM FM is seeking a Mobile Fabric Engineer to support multiple contracts in the North West region. The role involves working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform building fabric planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across the contract portfolio.
  • Diagnose and repair building faults, including ceiling repairs, painting, skirting and facing replacement, and door servicing.
  • Identify and order spare parts needed for repairs.
  • Inspect and carry out reactive landscape maintenance as per project agreements.
  • Conduct building fabric inspections and fault finding.
  • Perform monthly legionella tap temperature checks and flush little-used outlets.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors regarding method statements, risk assessments, and safe work execution.
  • Monitor and replenish stock supplies.
  • Assist with porterage duties if required.
  • Support health and safety responsibilities.
  • Provide utility meter readings.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as needed.

Candidate profile

  • Experience as a Building Fabric Engineer or handyman in a busy service environment, with relevant building fabric issue resolution skills.
  • Recognized trade qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Training or experience in General H&S Regulations, risk assessments, and method statement preparation.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to identify concerns independently.
  • Full valid driving license.
  • Reliable attendance and performance.
  • Basic plumbing, mechanical, or joinery skills are advantageous.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use initiative daily.
  • Willing to participate in a one-in-eight on-call rota.
