Get stuck in and help keep our estates clean, safe and welcoming.

As a Mobile Estate Operative, you'll be on the move across the borough, tackling everything from graffiti and fly-tipping to deep cleans and jet washing. You'll be part of a close-knit mobile team, making a visible difference to residents every single day.

Working Style:

You'll be based in the Borough for five days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

What you'll be doing:

This is a hands-on, practical role where no two days are the same. You'll move across our housing estates, keeping communal areas clean, tidy and safe. Whether it's jet washing pavements, removing bulk waste, clearing graffiti, or giving windows a much-needed polish, your work will help keep our neighbourhoods looking their best.

You'll be trusted to manage your own workload, logging tasks and issues on a smartphone or PDA in real time. You'll also be trained to use specialist equipment - from reach-and-wash tools to polishing machines - and make sure everything is done safely and properly. You'll drive a council vehicle, keep it clean and roadworthy and be ready to step in with things like snow clearance when needed.

Most importantly, you'll be a friendly face for residents. Whether it's answering questions or just offering a smile while you work, you'll help people feel safe and supported where they live.

You'll need to be comfortable using cleaning equipment, physically fit for manual work and confident working outdoors in all weathers. You'll bring a basic understanding of health and safety and the ability to work independently - keeping on top of your tasks while also supporting your teammates when needed.

We're looking for someone with good communication skills, who's able to interact with residents and colleagues respectfully and clearly. You'll also need a full, clean driving licence and be confident using simple digital tools to log jobs and flag issues.

Above all, you'll take pride in your work, care about your community and be ready to get stuck in when it counts.

Why join us

At RBKC, we're all in - investing in our people, our communities and our future.

You'll join a supportive, friendly team that looks out for one another. You'll be based in the borough full-time, out on the ground and trusted to get things done. There's plenty of training and development available and you'll see the results of your work - from fresher communal spaces to grateful conversations with residents.

This is your chance to take real ownership of your patch and help us build safer, cleaner, more welcoming estates across the borough.
