About The Opportunity...

We are seeking a Mobile Engineer with an active-oriented mindset and a focus on building a quality team and product. You will report to the Mobile Engineering Team Lead, assist in planning and delivering projects, communicate progress, milestones, and roadblocks to stakeholders and management, and empower engineers to make impactful contributions towards company goals while supporting their professional development.

Key Responsibilities...

• Collaborate with Engineering Management, Operations, and Product teams to develop and execute domain objectives and strategies.
• Communicate progress, roadblocks, concerns, and successes to engineering management.
• Advocate for team needs, including addressing technical debt and infrastructure improvements.
• Provide technical guidance for code reviews and enforce best practices across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Select and evaluate technologies to solve problems effectively.
• Gather requirements and resolve blockers from other domain teams.
• Be flexible with work hours to accommodate EST/ET time zones in Canada.

Experience & Qualifications...

• 4+ years of professional software development experience (excluding internships and personal projects).
• 4+ years experience with React Native.
• Experience with state containers such as Redux, Alt, Flux.
• Proficient in Agile development, TDD / BDD, and rapid iteration.
• Strong understanding of Git fundamentals.
• Experience with pure-functional programming (bonus, e.g., Lo-Dash FP).
• Knowledge of native iOS/Android platforms and build processes.
• Knowledge of React/TypeScript best practices.
• Experience with analytics libraries (e.g., Mixpanel).
• Travel industry experience is a plus.
• Node.js experience is a plus.
