Our team in the Lodging Search Experience domain is looking for curious, empathetic, and creative problem solvers with a growth mindset. We are a team of travel-loving makers, building a cutting-edge lodging shopping platform using open-source technologies. You will be responsible for building a best-in-class shopping experience for our lodging travelers and partners.

As a member of the team, you'll estimate engineering efforts, design your changes, implement, and test your changes, push to live, and triage production issues. You need to be collaborative and curious as we build new experiences and improve existing frameworks powering the world's largest travel mobile apps at a scale only a few companies can match.

What you will do:

1. Build and evolve the next generation Expedia Group shared component library framework to be adapted by different EG brands using the latest technologies such as Swift.
2. Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to enable them to co-develop, re-use, and solve problems.
3. Develop and test standard software applications in Swift UI and related programs and procedures to ensure they meet design requirements.
4. Participate in code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility.
5. Apply software design principles, data structures, design patterns, and computer science fundamentals to write clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular code with good naming conventions.
6. Drive continuous improvement and delivery in our software development process within an agile team.
7. Write automation tests, unit tests, and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our CI pipelines.
8. Collaborate with team members to co-develop and resolve problems.
9. Be involved in product feature development, working closely with teams across all our offices worldwide.
10. Coordinate with stakeholders to develop solutions and contribute suggestions.
11. Identify areas of inefficiency in code or systems and propose improvements.
12. Maintain awareness of industry issues and trends, especially regarding accessibility, usability, and front-end technologies.

Who you are:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
2. 4+ years of experience in an iOS environment.
3. Passionate about building and refining high-performance iOS apps.
4. Experience developing features in Swift or Objective-C and knowledge of API service connection paradigms.
5. Understanding of client/server architectures and mobile development methodologies.
6. Seeking challenging opportunities as an iOS engineer.
7. Eager to learn and work with new technologies like Swift UI and GraphQL.
8. Experience in testing and monitoring your code.
9. Familiar with SDLC tools like CI/CD, Git, Github Actions.
10. Experience with large codebases.
11. Effective communication skills to present technical information clearly.
12. Bias towards action, balancing speed with quality.
13. Familiarity with design tools like Figma is a plus.
