Job description

Mobile Engineer

Location: Exeter

Salary: Up to £45k DOE

Pareto is currently looking for a Mobile Engineer to join us on a permanent basis across our business.

We are seeking a vibrant, exciting, and enthusiastic candidate. Ideal team members are outgoing, customer-focused, willing to help, and eager to own problems to completion.

The candidate should be a team player who consistently goes above and beyond to achieve goals. Travel costs will be reimbursed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely completion of all maintenance and reactive tasks related to client assets, serving as the first response for all M&E and Fabric issues.
  • Perform regular inspections (including statutory, mandatory, and insurance requirements) to maintain the efficiency and safety of M&E installations, fire safety, firefighting equipment, and security systems. Coordinate with client staff on specific needs.
  • Maintain records and manage computer-based record systems according to nationally agreed standards, including statutory testing, inspections, technical records, files, diaries, drawings, and reports.
  • Carry out maintenance on M&E services and installations such as electrical systems, heating and hot water systems, fire alarms, security systems, machinery, lifts, and other relevant systems.
  • Ensure work is completed to standard, within budget, and meets client requirements, providing regular updates to the Pareto FM Account Manager and client liaison.

Support subcontractors in routine and emergency maintenance, both during and outside of working hours.

  • Assist the client in setting maintenance priorities, planning forward programs, and budgeting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of delegated planned maintenance projects by creating schedules, specifications, and placing orders. Supervise and audit completed work.
  • Provide technical M&E advice and support to the client as requested.
  • Liaise with other professionals on project work and contribute site and maintenance information as needed.
  • Collaborate with the client and Pareto FM staff to develop and promote best practices in M&E maintenance and procedures.
  • Engage with site and property teams, offering technical input in areas such as security, health and safety, risk assessments, utilities, disaster planning, and other initiatives.

With the client, ensure the effective implementation of the Asset Management Plan to guide work planning and management across the estate.

  • Undertake other related tasks as required by the client and Pareto FM Account Manager.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the client in case of issues.
  • Remain flexible and open to various workplace tasks to support the client's business continuity.
