Job summary

TrueNorth is seeking a Senior Mobile / App Engineer (React Native) to own and modernise a long‑running consumer mobile app (iOS & Android) in the health space. Manchester based, 3 days in the office.

You’ll lead architecture and cross‑platform development, migrate a legacy Cordova/Kendo/Redux stack to React Native, and drive performance, releases and app‑store submissions. Collaborate with product, designers, clinicians and backend engineers to ship features and surface AI/LLM‑powered

Qualifications

• Solid experience integrating REST APIs and managing async state.
• Experience writing tests for mobile/frontend applications.
• Good understanding of mobile lifecycles, signing, and store releases.
• Clear, concise communicator with ability to work in a team.
• Wamiliarity with modernising legacy mobile apps.

Senior Mobile / App Engineer (React Native) – Health & AI

£60,000–£65,000 | Manchester | 3 days in office

I’m hiring a Senior App Engineer to own and modernise a long‑running consumer mobile app (iOS & Android) in the health space.

You’ll be the go‑to person for:

• Architecture and development of the mobile app and cross‑platform stack.
• Migrating a legacy hybrid app (Cordova / Kendo / Redux) towards a modern React Native setup.
• Handling performance, stability, releases and app store submissions.
• Working with product, designers, clinicians and backend engineers to ship features.
• Helping surface upcoming AI / LLM‑powered features in the app UI.

What I’m looking for:

• Solid experience integrating REST APIs, managing async state, and writing tests for mobile/front‑end.
• Good understanding of mobile lifecycles, signing, and store releases.
• Happy to act as a broader software engineering generalist when needed (APIs, infra, etc.).
• Clear, concise communicator and comfortable with 3 days a week in central Manchester.
