Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to join our Facilities Management team in Central London. You will deliver high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse commercial portfolio, ensuring buildings are safe, compliant and fully operational while delivering an excellent service experience.

You will carry out PPM and reactive works, diagnose faults on electrical or mechanical systems, and provide clear reporting.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent).
• 18th Edition (BS 7671).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and compliance within FM environments.
• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, pipework, and plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across multiple FM sites.
• Diagnose and repair faults on electrical or mechanical systems, depending on your bias.
• Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and end users.
• Complete accurate reporting via CAFM systems and job sheets.
• Support with minor installations, upgrades, and project work when required.
• Participate in an on-call rota where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You Will Have

Electrical Bias

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)


• 18th Edition (BS 7671)


• Strong experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding, and compliance within FM environments

OR

Mechanical Bias

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)


• Experience maintaining mechanical systems such as HVAC, pumps, pipework, and plant equipment

In Addition

• Proven experience working within Facilities Management / Building Services


• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills


• Experience working across commercial environments


• Good knowledge of compliance and H&S best practices


• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Multi-skilled capability (electrical & mechanical)


• HVAC or F-Gas certification (for mechanical bias where applicable)
