A leading environmental services firm in Glasgow is seeking a qualified technician to ensure proper maintenance and compliance of steam boilers across various sites. The ideal candidate will have solid electromechanical experience alongside trade qualifications and a UK driving license. Hours: 42 hours per week (flexibility is required) + a call out rotation

What you'll be doing:

  • Be part of an Industrial Energy team who manage the maintenance of steam boilers.
  • Carry out routine and statutory planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works to all mechanical and electrical systems across all the sites.
  • Ensure that the steam boilers are maintained as per OEM specifications.
  • Ensure that chiller units are maintained as per OEM specifications.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly rectified to maintain the plants in serviceable order at all times (24/7).
  • Maintenance and publication of plant quality records and reports.
  • Carry out daily routine Steam Boiler operational tasks that will comply with legislation and company policies.
  • Compliance with Company's Health and Safety, quality and environmental policies.
  • Participate in an on-call rota, providing out of hours cover, along with weekend working

What we're looking for:

Ideally, we are looking for someone with industrial boiler experience, however, if you have a solid electromechanical engineering background with a good understanding of pressure systems or commercial MTHW, with Gas Safe, then please get in touch.

  • Strong Electromechanical experience with a formally recognised Mechanical or Electrical trade qualification.
  • Strong organisational skills with an ability to balance a varied workload and re-prioritise in response to changing business needs and unexpected engineering problems
  • An in depth knowledge of Health & Safety practices
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Boiler Operations Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) certification with extensive experience operating industrial steam boilers would be desirable
  • Gas Safe registered for commercial installations with IGas Level 3 qualification would be desirable
  • 18th Edition electrical certification and Medium Risk Confined Space training would be desirable
  • Health and Safety qualifications and awareness, risk assessment, method statement training, competence in issuing and use of all company Permit to Work systems would be preferential, however, training will be provided where appropriate
