Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services Limited in Reading is seeking a Mobile Electrical Engineer to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse portfolio of client sites. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently while delivering an exceptional standard of service.

Everything you need to do the job is provided, including a company van, mobile phone, tablet and uniform. You will work 42.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri) with overtime after 47.5 hours, and have the opportunity

Qualifications

Good understanding of M&E building services.
Electrical installation qualification (City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).
Inspection & Testing qualification (2391-52).
Full UK driving licence.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to interpret and analyse electrical systems.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Methodical record keeping and reporting.
Hands-on attitude with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality maintenance to clients, meeting contract requirements.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance and respond to faults.
Diagnose faults and arrange replacements to minimise downtime.
Perform quality inspections to industry standards.
Maintain records in the Elogbooks system.
Coordinate schedules with Lead Engineer and Support Desk.
Participate in out-of-hours call-outs as needed.
Work hands-on across client sites and comply with safety rules.
Maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
Support wider team with additional duties when required.

Job Description

As a key member of our Electrical maintenance team, you'll play a vital role in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical systems within our client portfolio. You'll be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while providing an exceptional service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional service to our clients, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in line with contractual requirements.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to reactive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.
Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently, arranging equipment replacements where required to minimise downtime.
Complete quality inspections and ensure all work meets recognised industry standards and best practices.
Effectively manage and maintain records through our Elogbooks facilities management system.
Work closely with the Lead Engineer and Support Desk Supervisor to coordinate maintenance schedules, priorities, and reporting requirements.
Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required.
Undertake a variety of hands-on and physically demanding tasks across client sites.
Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety legislation, and relevant industry regulations.
Take ownership of your professional development by participating in training and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and qualifications.
Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues, representing the business professionally at all times.
Support the wider team by undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role when required.

Hours of Work

42.5 hours per week between Monday - Friday. Overtime starting after 47.5 hours.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
