Job summary

Equans is seeking a qualified Mobile Electrician to cover 17 schools across North Lanarkshire. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and general electrical maintenance across multiple sites.

The role requires independence, professionalism, and the ability to respond promptly to faults. A company van and fuel card are provided, with the option to take the vehicle home. 3-month contract at £20.00 per hour PAYE.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
• Experience in facilities management or building services.
• Experience performing both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Full UK Driving Licence and ability to work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across multiple school sites.
• Complete reactive electrical repairs and attend breakdowns.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out remedial works.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems and installations.
• Ensure work complies with electrical regulations and health & safety.
• Complete maintenance records, job sheets and reports.
• Liaise with school staff and end users professionally.
• Identify potential issues and report additional works.
• Work independently while managing multiple sites and priorities.

Role: Mobile Electrician

Location: North Lanarkshire, ML4

Contract: 3 Month contract (Potential Extension)

Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour PAYE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Vehicle: Company van and fuel card provided, with option to take the vehicle home

About the Role

You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding and general electrical maintenance across multiple sites. The role requires someone who can work independently, provide a professional service and respond effectively to electrical faults and breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across multiple school sites.
• Complete reactive electrical repairs and attend breakdowns.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out appropriate remedial works.
• Maintain and repair electrical systems and installations.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with current electrical regulations and health & safety requirements.
• Complete maintenance records, job sheets and reports accurately.
• Liaise professionally with school staff, site representatives and end users.

• Work independently while managing multiple sites and priorities.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Essential Requirements

• Fully qualified Electrician.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations - essential.
• Previous experience in Facilities Management, Building Services or Electrical Maintenance.
• Experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
