Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Mobile Technician (Electrical) to service and maintain industrial utilities across Wigan, Preston, and Manchester. The role offers a salary of £40,000 to £46,000 per year, plus a company van and Veolia benefits, with 43 hours per week, 7:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday.

The mobile position requires operating plant, delivering PPMs, and supporting project work across multiple sites. A time-served apprenticeship and driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering background in Electrical/Mechanical industry with a time-served apprenticeship.
• Experience with fault finding and maintenance across 110V, 240V and 415V systems.
• Full clean driving licence required.
• Proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain industrial utilities including steam boilers, air compressors, cooling towers and water treatment plants.
• Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems and ensure LV/ELV compliance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, control and instrumentation faults.
• Support projects including minor electrical and mechanical installations.
• Maintain plant quality records and reports.
• Implement Safe Systems of Work (Permits to Work, Risk Assessments, Method Statements).
• Cover the On-Call rota for out-of-hours site alarms.
