Overview

Mobile Electrical Maintenance Engineer — Sector: maintenance engineering. Location: Bridgwater. Salary: £38.000 - £40.000. Contract: Permanent. Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch). On-call rota: 1 in 5.

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance requirements including the electrical maintenance of 4 locations across the Somerset and Bristol areas, primarily based at Bridgwater.

This role suits someone with a strong background in commercial property or facilities management who can combine technical knowledge and personal skills of working in a busy commercial building.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain BMS, UPS, HVAC, emergency power, and water systems
  • Carry out fault finding and repairs on essential systems and equipment
  • Complete statutory compliance checks, system logs, and site records
  • Ensure exceptional standards of housekeeping, safety, and service delivery
  • Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota to support 24/7 service requirements
Requirements
  • Electrical or Mechanical qualification (C&G Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Minimum 5 years\' experience in Building Services
  • Strong knowledge of BMS, UPS, generators, air conditioning, water treatment
  • HV authorised person or willingness to gain certification
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Proven ability to manage reactive and planned works effectively
Desirable
  • Prior experience with PFI contracts
  • Ability to quote, report, and manage small works projects
  • Familiarity with compliance reporting and control room operation
