Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services is seeking a Mobile Electrical Engineer in Croydon to deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance for a diverse client portfolio. You will ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently, with company van, phone, tablet and uniform provided.

You’ll work under the guidance of the Lead Engineer to meet contractual standards. Key responsibilities include PPM, fault diagnosis, reporting, and coordinating maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

  • Essential: strong understanding of M&E building services and electrical maintenance.
  • Experience with fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and analyse electrical diagrams and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver electrical maintenance across client sites to high standards.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and respond to reactive faults.
  • Diagnose faults and arrange equipment replacements to minimise downtime.
  • Keep quality inspections and records up to date.
  • Use Elogbooks for maintenance reporting and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with Lead Engineer and Support Desk on priorities.
  • Participate in out-of-hours rota as required.
  • Perform hands-on electrical tasks safely and professionally.

Mobile Electrical Engineer
Job Description:

As a key member of our Electrical maintenance team, you'll play a vital role in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical systems within our client portfolio. You'll be responsible for ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while providing an exceptional service that consistently exceeds customer expectations.

Everything you need to do the job will be provided, including a company van, mobile phone, tablet and uniform.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional service to our clients, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards and in line with contractual requirements.

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to reactive maintenance and equipment breakdowns.

Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently, arranging equipment replacements where required to minimise downtime.

Complete quality inspections and ensure all work meets recognised industry standards and best practices.

Effectively manage and maintain records through our Elogbooks facilities management system.

Work closely with the Lead Engineer and Support Desk Supervisor to coordinate maintenance schedules, priorities, and reporting requirements.

Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota as required.

Undertake a variety of hands-on and physically demanding tasks across client sites.

Ensure full compliance with company policies, health & safety legislation, and relevant industry regulations.

Take ownership of your professional development by participating in training and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge and qualifications.

Build positive working relationships with clients and colleagues, representing the business professionally at all times.

Support the wider team by undertaking additional duties appropriate to the role when required.

Location:

Croydon.

Hours of Work:

42.5 hours per week between Monday - Friday. Overtime starting after 47.5 hours.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Good understanding of M&E building services.

Relevant Electrical Installation qualification (e.g. City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent).

Inspection & Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391-52).

Full UK driving licence.

Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Ability to interpret and analyse electrical systems.

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Methodical approach to record keeping and reporting.

Practical, hands-on attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

City & Guilds / Plumbing / AC servicing / Gas.

18th Edition.
