Job Description

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various crane equipment including mobile cranes (All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Crawler Cranes, Boom Trucks, knuckle booms, bucket trucks, etc.). Must have experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics (heavy equipment and cranes).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mobile Crane Mechanic/Technician capable of operating and inspecting cranes to diagnose defects.
2. Demonstrates working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, EKS, ECOS, LICCON, and Greer systems.
3. Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
4. Reads and understands operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
5. Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications.
6. Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
7. Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
8. Maintains conformity to safety requirements, manufacturer procedures, and other regulations.
9. Properly fills out work reports, hours reports, timesheets, work orders, and expense reports.
10. Provides exceptional customer service and communication skills.
11. Ability to work overtime and on weekends; periodic travel for 1 to 4-day intervals for field techs.
12. Work hours vary: shop technicians from 40 to 50 hours/week; field technicians from 40 to 80 hours/week depending on customer needs.
13. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record required; CDL preferred for field technician positions.

Qualifications: Experience with mobile crane equipment, specifically Grove RT and TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc, Liebherr, Terex, Palfinger, IMT, Cormach, Demag, Manitex, etc.
