Job Purpose:

Provide high-quality lifting services, prioritizing safety for employees, customers, and the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions at all times.
  • Adhere to road traffic regulations.
  • Wear PPE appropriately.
  • Use outriggers correctly, ensuring they are on level ground.
  • Set and check the rated capacity limiter and indicator.
  • Perform manual handling procedures correctly, such as Outrigger Pans.
  • Coordinate with Site/Project Managers upon arrival.
  • Resist unsafe pressures from others.
  • Apply information from reports and duty charts for safe crane operation.
  • Monitor weather conditions affecting crane and load safety.
  • Take action to avoid dangerous situations, including stopping operations if necessary.
  • Use ladders and grab rails safely to access and depart the crane.
  • Undergo training on specific crane models, rigging, and maintenance procedures.
  • Continuously seek improvements in operational efficiency.

Person Specification:

Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Full Drivers Licence
  • HGV Class C Licence
  • Valid Blue CPCS card with Mobile Crane Operator authorization
  • Previous mobile crane operating experience
  • Knowledge of weather effects on crane and load
  • Strong understanding of road traffic regulations
